Honoring Jesus By Serving the Poor |
Posted: June 22, 2018 |
Have you ever spent time thinking about how to honor the Lord Jesus Christ with your deeds? How can you make sure that your actions are in favor of those around you, and that you take the righteous path in all you do? Fortunately, the righteous path has already been lighted by Jesus. We need only to follow in his footsteps along it. And, while good deeds cannot bring salvation, they show the world in whose footsteps we follow, and the promise that His life brings. Honoring Jesus by Helping Those Less Fortunate Than Ourselves If you find someone in need of assistance, stop and help. It is that simple. We must help as Christ helped, indiscriminate of comfort to ourselves. If you see an opportunity to help your fellow man, then you are obligated to help them. Assist them with whatever struggles they have and let them see the light of Jesus shine through your actions. The Lord sees the good deeds done for those less fortunate than us, and while that doesn’t mean you will receive for every act of giving, it does mean that you are seen living out your faith. We can honor Jesus by following in his legacy, by assisting our fellow man, and by helping those in need. The Bible is filled with stories and scriptures encouraging each of us to work for the betterment of not just ourselves, but all we come in contact with. Serving those less fortunate is a way of fulfilling these concessions. After all, we are saved because Christ came to serve mankind to the extent that He sacrificed His own life for our salvation. If you are curious about the servanthood of Jesus Christ and what it means to your life, we encourage you to continue to search the scriptures and attend church. If you are searching for a church in the San Antonio area, then we encourage you to join us at Pentecostal Life Church in San Antonio. Here, or at any of the Pentecostal Churches in San Antonio you will hear the sermons of the Holy Bible, learn how to serve in Christ’s example, and how to grow along the path that He has laid out for your life.
